Open Science and Urban Resilience in War-Affected Regions: Workshop Announcement

We are pleased to announce an upcoming workshop titled “Open Science and Urban Resilience in War-Affected Regions: Challenges and Pathways for Sustainable Recovery”, organized by the EU-cofunded FORWARD project (WP2).

This interactive workshop aims to engage stakeholders in validating preliminary analytical findings related to urban resilience in war-affected regions. It will provide a platform for participants to contribute to identifying key challenges, infrastructure gaps, and capacity-building needs.

The discussions will focus on:

  • Urban resilience challenges across, water, food, energy, and housing
  • Gender equity considerations
  • Open science practices and FAIR data management
  • Digital infrastructure and training needs for researchers and practitioners

The workshop will begin with an opening session and presentations in English, followed by parallel sessions in Arabic (Palestine-focused) and Ukrainian (Ukraine-focused). It will conclude with a plenary session where key insights will be shared.
